Chainsaw Reviews - What Are Others Saying

!±8± Chainsaw Reviews - What Are Others Saying

There are two types of chainsaws on the market - gas and electric. The freedom and additional power that gas provides often influences our decision but we don't always need a gas chainsaw. So what do others suggest? Check out these chainsaw reviews.

Gas may provide additional power but the also are heavier to operate and require more maintenance than an electric chainsaw. Electric is a far better choice for the occasional user.

Electrics have their pros and cons too. They are perfect for pruning small trees, are cheap to operate, and require little maintenance. They are also lighter and safer. But remember you are tied to a cord usually about 100 foot. They are not designed to cut large trees and they are underpowered compared to their gas counterpart.

These are all excellent choices in the electric chainsaw market.

1. Craftman 34116

Made by Sears and backed by the Sears warranty this is a great choice for under 0. It weighs less than 11 pounds and comes with a 16 inch blade.

2. Makita UC 4000

Although this one costs a little more at just under 0 it offers more power than most electrics and it only weight 9 pounds and it has a 16 inch blade.

3. Remington 098031

For under this is a pretty impressive machine with a 16 inch blade and weighing just 7 pounds. It's easy to operate and easy to pack around.

4. Milwaukee 6215

At just over 0 this one comes in a little higher than some of the competition but there's a reason. It's bigger, more powerful, and it's one of the largest electrics on the market.

5. McCulloch MS 1640

For under you can own this small chainsaw that's perfect for trimming and pruning. It weighs just over 7 pounds and it has a 16 inch blade.

6. Makita UC120DWA

This is a cordless chainsaw that operates off a rechargeable battery. This means it's extremely convenient but it also means you are limited to battery life. It only has a 5 inch blade so the size of the job is also limited.

7. STIHL MS 280

The Stihl Wood Boss has earned a reputation as an excellent firewood cutter and saw for the farm. It has a heavy duty air filter, anti vibration technology to reduce fatigue, toolless oil and fuel cap, InteliCarb, and preheat shutter.

8. STIHL MS 390

This is a nice saw in the mid size range and it offers a decompression valve which makes starting much easier. The design of this saw keeps the chain brake and clutch housing protected from dirt. It has the Ematic system with IntelliCarb.

9. Husqvarna Model 137

This is a traditional saw with a smaller body. In fact it is the smallest Husqvarna on the market and it's designed for home owners who only need a part time saw. It's easy to start and it has a 2.2 cu inch cylinder displacement with a 2.2 hp motor. The air injection system means smoother operation and less filter changes and the vibration dampening makes it easier to handle. It has a double acting chain brake with the chain catcher which means you'll be operating nice and safely. It even comes with the 16 inch bar.

There are plenty of other good buys out there. Just a little shopping around and you'll find other chainsaw reviews worth reading. Then you can decide what's right for you.

Electric Chainsaws - Reliable, Affordable and More Powerful Than You Think

!±8± Electric Chainsaws - Reliable, Affordable and More Powerful Than You Think

When it comes time to clean up your garden or yard, especially after a storm or some nasty weather few tools come in more handy than the standby time tested indispensable tool - the chainsaw. When it comes time to choose a saw you are faced with two choices, gas powered or electric. Now before start thinking "an electric chainsaw come on now! I need something with some guts!" You might think again, unlike in the past when electric chainsaws were a bit underpowered those days are gone now days electric saws have more than enough power to handle the bulk of everyday pruning and cutting.

There are a lot of advantages to owning an electric saw. Some of them are lightness. Electric saws are considerably lighter than gas powered saws. And if you have a lot of cutting to do, especially over head cutting you'll really come to appreciated the difference in weight.

Maintenance is another issue. electric saws have much lower levels of maintenance required to keep them running. Just plug them in and you're good to go. With gas saws they're just more complex and so there is more parts on them. The more parts you have the more parts there are to break. Not to mention the problems with adjusting the choke on them.

Convenience is another major advantage. No mixing and storing gasoline. No gasoline means no spilling of gasoline. Not to mention the hassles of storing gasoline and going out to buy it. And then there is the problems associated with mistakes mixing the gas and oil mixture. If you don't get the gas oil ratio right, the saw might not start.

Remington makes good little saws ideal for pruning and cleaning up the yard. Remington electric chainsaws aren't terribly powerful but if all you need to do is some light cutting then they work pretty well and they're quite affordable. (Some are as cheap as .)

But if you need more power than I recommend stepping up to a Makita electric chainsaw. You'll pay more for this saw - easily twice but they last much longer have more power and are more reliable. There is a pretty good reason why you see them on so many work trucks. the name Makita is practically synonymous with quality and stone reliability.

The one issue that most people have is the problems of being limited to the length of the cord. Those who have large lots might be better served with a gas powered saw but for the bulk of those who have smaller lots, an electric saw with a hundred foot cord s more than enough

When you add up all the advantages that electric saws give, not to mention that they are cheaper than gas powered saws, investing in an electric chainsaw is a pretty good choice.

Makita 5012B - A Good Electric Chainsaw

!±8± Makita 5012B - A Good Electric Chainsaw

Gas powered chainsaws are good. They are powerful enough to make sawing a lot easier for many of us. However, like many other things out there, gas powered chainsaws are also things that could use a little improvement in every aspect. Each one of them also has its own disadvantages. The following are just the most common.

Gas powered chainsaws are very hard to maintain. They still need priming and gas before every usage. And this could be a real hassle especially if you are just going to deal with a handful of branches on your lawn. This is so because usually, the amount of time spent on priming it is five times that of the actual time spent sawing. Now this is just not good.

In addition to this, the cost of this priming and gas fouling is just enough for you to acquire an electric chainsaw which is much more efficient. In other words, the maintenance cost for gas powered chainsaws is quite high. So, if this is to be the case, why stop yourself from buying electric chainsaws. As said they are more efficient and more easy to use.

An example of a good electric chainsaw is the Makita 5012B Electric Chainsaw. A lot of reviews about this product say that this is just really easy to start and really easy to use because it is just very light and really very easy to control or maneuver. Also, its speed is twice more than that of the second fastest in the market! Meaning, we do twice as much work. Now that is just a time saver! In addition to this, this also has fair safety features such as more immediate stopping of chains when the trigger is hit.

Even with this, when you have your first electric chainsaw, it is still best to also ensure your safety. Be sure to buy ear and eye protector. This is really necessary because first, no matter how really careful we are when we're working with these chainsaws, there will always be that noise that could really damage our ears. Also, we can't avoid those flying wood chips and other debris. If our eyes are hit by those, they may cause damage to it or worse, distract us with our work and life threatening accidents may occur. In order to avoid this, we must be wise and purchase the best safety gears available.
